Promotions
This allows the creation of a “tour” that may not be date specific. Promotions can be used for special offers, sample tours, tournaments, etc
- The “Promotions” module is used to create and sell specific FIT tours that are not necessarily restricted by a set departure date (as in charter flights), but are available either from allocation or subject to availability or confirmation. Typically, they can be used in the following ways.
- City Break type tour – a standard itinerary but available at different times/departures with the possibility of selecting from a choice of hote.l
Creation of a Promotion
- Recommended / Sample Tours – Which can be taken as they are or adjusted to suit the client requirements.
Tour Header Details: As in the Package Tours module, the header details of the promotion are entered including name, description, valid dates, etc. The departure day-of-the-week is also selected if the tour / promotion is only valid on a particular day or starts on a particular day.
Promotion Details
All elements of the itinerary are entered as in building an FIT. Images and text descriptions associated with the promotion are entered and can be used for sales info, itineraries or on the web site. If options exist within the promotion, all option details are entered (e.g. room choice, transport choice etc)
PricingPricing for different parts of the tour can be calculated by simple clicks on each selected service. In this way, a price profile can be established for different participants within the same booking. For example, where some of the party does not want to participate in activities (golf, tours, etc) a different price can easily be calculated for them, even though they are part of the same booking.
Fixed priced combinations can be saved for the promotion. All saved price combinations are available for future bookings.
Booking a Promotion
Individual bookings are done in the same manner as Package Tours, via the wizard approach.
The items of the promotion are selected (where options are available) and the user is guided through the booking wizard.
Aternatively, a saved combination can be selected from the pricing grid and the user can proceed through the booking in this manner. The itinerary reflects the different prices per person and the total itinerary price.
