GlobeTrack offers an ASP business solution – i.e. the GlobeTrack application is hosted remotely and access is via the web over a VPN (Virtual Private Network). There is no major capital outlay, rather the GlobeTrack application service is paid for on a monthly / quarterly basis.
About ASP
Application Service Provider, abbreviated to ASP, is a third-party entity that manages and distributes software-based services and solutions to customers across the web or wide area network from a central data center.
In essence, ASPs are a way for companies to outsource some or almost all aspects of their information needs. This offers the advantage of allowing businesses to access Enterprise level software a lower price level and eliminates the requirement for managing local application servers, software updates and data back-up.
